Free Hipster Script Pro Font Yet another hipster font for professionals that can be used to decorate a web page or a blog or anything. You can also use this font offline in banners, flyers and even greetings card. We would like to show you a description here but the site won’t allow us. Hipster Script is another of my habitual attempts at trying to reduce the divide between manual and digital. In this case, I try to articulate brush letter.

Fractions
Tag: frac
Function: Replaces figures separated by a slash with 'common' (diagonal) fractions. The user enters 3/4 in a recipe and gets the threequarters fraction.
Standard Ligatures
Tag: liga
Function: Replaces a sequence of glyphs with a single glyph which is preferred for typographic purposes. This feature covers the ligatures which the designer/manufacturer judges should be used in normal conditions. The glyph for ffl replaces the sequence of glyphs f f l.
Ordinals
Tag: ordn
Function: Replaces default alphabetic glyphs with the corresponding ordinal forms for use after figures. One exception to the follows-a-figure rule is the numero character (U+2116), which is actually a ligature substitution, but is best accessed through this feature. The user applies this feature to turn 2.o into 2.o (abbreviation for secundo).
Contextual Alternates
Tag: calt
Function: In specified situations, replaces default glyphs with alternate forms which provide better joining behavior. Used in script typefaces which are designed to have some or all of their glyphs join. In Caflisch Script, o is replaced by o.alt2 when followed by an ascending letterform.
Swash
Tag: swsh
Function: This feature replaces default character glyphs with corresponding swash glyphs. Note that there may be more than one swash alternate for a given character. The user inputs the ampersand character when setting text with Poetica with this feature active, and is presented with a choice of the 63 ampersand forms in that face.
Stylistic Alternates
Tag: salt
Function: Many fonts contain alternate glyph designs for a purely esthetic effect; these don't always fit into a clear category like swash or historical. As in the case of swash glyphs, there may be more than one alternate form. This feature replaces the default forms with the stylistic alternates. The user applies this feature to Industria to get the alternate form of g.
Titling

Function: This feature replaces the default glyphs with corresponding forms designed specifically for titling. These may be all-capital and/or larger on the body, and adjusted for viewing at larger sizes. The user applies this feature in Adobe Garamond to get the titling caps.

In his own words, designer Alejandro Paul writes: “Hipster Script is another of my habitual attempts at trying to reduce the divide between manual and digital. In this case, I tried to articulate brush lettering, attempting to get the computer to emulate continuous painting. The process wasn’t that different from my work with Feel Script’s shot at computerized commercial lettering, though here we have a more casual contrast, rather than the high seriousness of the Copperplate script. Swashes, alternates, ligatures (too many of them!), all trying to make the interplay between the tool’s two extreme widths remain faithful to hand movement subtleties. I also toyed with ligatures containing apostrophes, something I’ve never seen before. With this typeface I think I’ve become more balanced in uniting the spontaneity of post-war ad lettering with the current trends in illustration and design.”
